The Diagnosis
Dec. 5th, 2004 04:58 pmWhat a miserable night last night. I spent most of it coughing and blowing my nose and tossing and turning and keeping Elf awake. Then this morning I woke up with a rash on my arms and legs. For someone who takes medication for a chronic condition, I can't afford to just assume it was a minor issue.
So it was off to the emergency room. Elf dropped me off so that the girls didn't end up sitting in a boring hospital emergency room for who knew how long. I got an x-ray to see if I had pneumonia, and when the doctor came in most of the rash was gone already.
"You've got a viral bronchitis," said the doctor, "and the rash is due to the virus."
Great. Just what I needed.
So now I've got codeine in my system...at least I'm not coughing as much.
Oh, and if that wasn't bad enough, it looks like we might have a yellow-jacket nest inside one of the heating vents in the house. We've been finding yellow-jackets showing up in the house, and during this time of the year they should all be fast asleep. So it's not like they would be showing up from outside or something. A call to Terminex is due, I guess.
