The Glory of the Internet

Kouryou-chan is currently reading a book in the Magic Tree House Series, "Afternoon on the Amazon". The kids in the book take their magic tree house to the Amazon rain forest, and there is mention of the strange sounds they hear. Kouryou-chan looked at me and asked me about those sounds. I told her to wait a moment, and I would find her some.

Within about 2 minutes, I was playing sounds of a rain forest as recorded near Arecibo, Puerto Rico. I find this utterly cool. Before the Internet, all Kouryou-chan could do was imagine what the sounds might be. Now, she really does know.
