My Day...I Sleep

This morning I woke up, ready to move forward with a busy day. I had a lot of work, plus a meeting in the early afternoon, and Kouryou-chan had ballet after school.

Unfortunately, my brain chose to get in the way. Around 10:30 am it decided to have a seizure....a pretty serious one. I busted my lip. Not sure how, I had enough of a warning that I got to lie down on the floor...must have banged my face against the floor. When I woke up, I was sitting in my chair in front of my computer again. I let [livejournal.com profile] elfs and [livejournal.com profile] fallenpegasus know what happened (I was talking to them online at the time) and cancelled my afternoon meeting. Then it was off to bed, where I slept for about 5 hours.

I'm still tired, and my head still hurts a bit. Ibuprofen is your friend. :/

Seizures suck. Isn't always a detective story trying to figure out how we get various injuries after we come to? Unless we have witnesses, of course. One of the weirdest ones I had was in my bedroom when I was a teenager. I woke up in bed with the worst headache and had bitten my tongue, so I knew I'd had a seizure, but I hadn't remembered waking up in the first place.

However, there was a large oval bruise on the inside of my thigh. Pretty big. Got up and wandered around the room until I "fitted" it to the end of my bedpost. I figure I had gotten up, had the seizure at the end of my bed and had fallen back into the bed....pretty heavily against the footboard!

Hope you are feeling better. Tongue ok? I hate that part because it takes so long to heal.

Thanks. Yeah, it is weird trying to figure out how you get hurt...though I've never thought of it as a detective story. I like that idea. :) I'll have to remember that. Strangely enough, I didn't bite my tongue at all this time. That's weird because I almost always do...usually along the side.

I'm trying to figure out how I damaged my lip, though. One could think that I banged my mouth against the floor, but the bruise is actually from front to back, not side to side.

One of the seizures I had last year Elf actually managed to get a video of. He played it again this evening, and the girls were watching it and laughing about how strange I looked. I suppose that's better than being afraid of me. Heh.

Thanks very much for the sympathy...it's nice to hear from a fellow epileptic. :D
