This will be a day that will live in infamy...the day that hot water came back to Villa Sternberg! As of this moment, a little red light signaling that one of the two electrodes that heats the water in our water heater is happily bright and shiny...like it's supposed to be. And within another half hour, I should be able to turn on hot water from our faucets.
The plumber was supposed to arrive somewhere between noon and 3 pm. Which means he wasn't getting hear until 4, I told
tygereclipse. Boy, did I get that one right. About 4:15 is when he arrived. Took a look at the electrical connections I had put together, and found that, once again, the manufacturer had screwed up. Apparently one of the copper wires that came from the manufacturer's side of the water heater had been frayed when the plastic coating had been removed to expose it, and it couldn't conduct enough electricity. Thus, only half of the water heater was receiving electricity. Not enough to heat the water.
I finally gave in this morning, too, and heated up three teapot fulls of hot water and washed a sink full of dishes...mostly dishes that were overlarge for the dishwasher or weren't allowed in the dishwasher. We have more than enough dishes for the household for days. However, if this had gone on any longer, I would have had to do other dishes as well tonight or tomorrow. Fortunately, that won't be the case.
And if I'm lucky, the water heater won't notice I said that, either. ;)
