Elf and I are considering changing our wireless phone service provider...we're happy with our current provider's (Cingular) service, but not with how much they charge (especially since we've been hearing recently that they may be overcharging us for stuff).

So, I took a look at Sprint yesterday, and there's a possibility that they may be cheaper than Cingular for the amount of minutes we're looking to use (550...we really don't use up that much). The Sprint service guy swore that the taxes and fees portion of the bill wouldn't amount to more than about $10 over what the basic charge was, but I don't trust him. Can someone out there with Sprint wireless phone service give me a hand? Does the taxes and fee portion of the bill for a family plan, 550 minutes, with two phones, amount to no more than about $10? Inquiring minds wish to know. ;)

Sprint doesn't know the meaning of "customer service." I don't know if the Nextel merger has helped any, but I doubt it.

I don't know if this will help much, but I've had a Sprint/Nextel phone for over a year now. If I remember correctly, the taxes on my plan (200 anytime minutes, free nights after 7pm and weekend) is like $3 or $4, but the taxes and fees vary depending on where you live.
